Pre-Alpha 2 Grabs
Note: This article was written on 2025-01-03, as a summary of the events happening on Discord back during this development log
After a prototyping phase, I transitioned to working on what I think is going to be the main content for pre-Alpha 2: new grabs and grapple animations!
First, on January 21st, I started with the idea of a "tie a boxtie" animation available when near a wall - which required "moving" a grabbed character:
Then, I added an animation to immediately gag a character on first grab on January 22nd.
The same day, I took a brief detour to add a prototype "upside down" animation, as well as an animation to start hanging a character upside down:
On January 23rd, I added a gag animation for a grappled character:
After which, I started the main topic on January 24th: animations for a character grappling another character on the ground!
On January 26th, I added an animation to drop a grappled character to the ground:
Then, on January 27th, I added a new animation to tie a character's arms:
Which I all added to the game on January 29th!
